Hot Press 44-10: The Killers & Sinéad O'Connor (Flip Cover Special)

€5.95
SINEAD O’CONNOR
She is one of the greatest artists ever to emerge on the island of Ireland. A wonderful singer, a powerful songwriter and a brilliant talker, by any standards she is an outstanding interviewee. She is, as it happens, also very funny. Who else could we possibly be talking about? In a Hot Press exclusive, Sinead O’Connor talks to Stuart Clark about the big issues of the day, including Black Lives Matter, Donald Trump, cancel culture, the role of music, her art, a very special new single – and lots more besides.

As ever, with Sinead, there is no question of sticking to what might be considered the script. She is, as always, entirely her own woman. Which is why we love her…

THE KILLERS
The Killers are one of the most important rock bands of the past 20 years. Formed in 2001, they went on to scale the heights, breaking through with their debut album Hot Fuss (2003), which went to No.1 in the UK and Ireland. They have repeated that chart-topping feat in the UK with every subsequent album, also topping the charts in the US with Wonderful Wonderful (2017).

With their latest masterwork, Imploding The Mirage, also hitting the No. 1 spot in Ireland and the UK, there is no better time to speak to the band’s mailman and songwriting driving force, Brandon Flowers – a man who is by turns eloquent, outspoken and eminently persuasive.
